The L&T Constructions has presented six concepts for the construction of a bridge across the Krishna river, linking the village of Mulapadu with Amaravati city in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh.

The length of the bridge is 3.8km, which includes a 1.2km stretch suspension bridge.

The first concept is Namaste in which the suspension towers look like two palms touching in the form of namaste.

Kuchipudi, a dance form, is the next concept. In this concept, the suspension arches look similar to that of a Kuchipudi dancer in a pose.

The third concept is that of Arala Mudra in which the suspension pylons look like a dancer’s hand in Arala Mudra.

In the fourth concept, the pylons look like the Buddhist Vitarka Mudra. This concept is a double-decker bridge with different areas allotted for vehicles and pedestrians.

The fifth concept features suspension towers like that of the toranas of a stupa. This concept will have 13 towers, representing the 13 districts of the southern state of India.

The sixth concept is that of Kondapalli Toys, which figure in the pylons and towers of the bridge.

The Hindu quoted, citing sources that the state government was interested in the double-decker concept.
