More than ten years ago, Leuchars Primary School applied for grant aid to provide a playground for the pupils. The application for the grant was declined and the school then attempted to raise the money themselves. Every time they had funds set aside, however, the finances for the school were reduced, and the money had to be used to support normal day-to-day operations.
