Transurban has awarded Transdyn a contract to upgrade the operation management and control system for Hills M2 motorway, a 21km, four-lane motorway that links the lower north shore and the north-west regions of Sydney, Australia. The M2 is a key part of the Sydney Orbital Network and provides an important link between the M7 and the Lane Cove Tunnel.
Running on DYNAC® software, the new system will enable better management of growing traffic demands and allow operations personnel to more effectively monitor and control traffic on the motorway. The new system will also support the planned upgrade and widening of the M2 motorway, which will lead to reduced travel times during peak periods and improved access to residential, educational and business areas.
Transdyn will seamlessly integrate the building management system, tunnel ventilation control system, motorist emergency telephone system, traffic flow system, traffic control room video wall, motorway network communication system, dynamic message signs, CCTV, and other roadside devices into a unified user interface.
Transurban is a leading international toll road developer and investor with major assets in Australia and North America. The company focuses on partnering with governments to deliver roads that meet community needs over the long term.
