Cedar Electronics has announced that its Cobra iRadar and Escort Live driver alert apps will now share warnings from each app community across both platforms.

The new initiative is expected to create the largest database of verified driver alerts, providing an unlimited range of coverage on the road.

With the shared Cobra iRadar and Escort Live database, drivers will be able to receive alerts from more than 3.5 million drivers that generate over eight million device-verified alerts per month.

Cedar Electronics CEO Christopher Cowger said: “ESCORT Live and iRadar provide an exclusive social network for the road by connecting drivers with alerts to help them drive smarter.

“Cobra iRadar and ESCORT Live will begin sharing alerts and community information from this month.”

“Our community of drivers are connected with technology that combines both detector-sensed and crowd-sourced alerts.  The plurality of these communities’ alerts will always provide greater range than the singularity of alerts from one single detector.”

iRadar will be connected to Cobra’s line of dash cams, smart CB radios, and radar and laser detectors through users’ smartphones to millions of other iRadar app users on the road.

The integration will automatically send information about upcoming speed and red-light cameras, live police locations and caution areas from enabled Cobra devices to Cloud servers.

Information is processed and other drivers within the network are alerted with both audible and visual information through their connected devices.

Cobra iRadar and ESCORT Live will begin sharing alerts and community information from this month.
