Cheshire East Council in the UK has awarded a £90m ($118m) road contract to Graham Construction to build a 5.5km-long road that connects A536 Macclesfield Road with A534 Sandbach Road in the Congleton area.

The contract includes construction of two underpasses and two road bridge crossings.

Road construction is scheduled to start by the end of 2018 and is expected to be completed by 2020.

Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has placed a contract to upgrade the Al Qudra-Jebel Ali Lehbab Roads Junction.

The upgrade aims to enhance traffic flow on Al Qudra Road and Jebel Ali Lehbab Road. It is also expected to reduce traffic congestion near the junction.

The project involves the construction of two new bridges and ramps to allow right-turn and U-turn movements. It also includes the widening of connecting streets and a cycling bridge, as well as the installation of lighting, rainwater drainage and utility systems.

Balfour Beatty and Jardine Matheson joint venture Gammon Construction has been awarded a HK$2.6bn ($325m) contract by Highways Department of Hong Kong.

Gammon Construction will be responsible for the electrical and mechanical (E&M) works on the newly constructed tunnel, as part of the Tuen Mun-Chek Lap Kok Link-Northern Connection Tunnel Buildings contract.

The 5km-long tunnel connects Tuen Mun with Boundary Crossing Facilities Island.

E&M works are expected to be completed by 2020.

Sichuan Road & Bridge intends to raise ¥800m ($119m) through the issue of one-year commercial papers.

The commercial papers will pay a coupon rate of 6.95% a year until they mature in July 2019.

French autonomous vehicle manufacturing company NAVYA intends to raise $58.55m through the placement of shares in an initial public offering.

Shares are priced between €9 ($10.47) and €12 ($14) each.

The company intends to use the proceeds for investing in research and development, as well as other growth prospects.

LBP AG El.tech has been acquired by Swedish firm AF AB for an undisclosed sum.

The transaction enables AF to expand its footprint in Switzerland and enhance its infrastructure capability.

Based in Switzerland, LBP offers electrical engineering for traffic infrastructure.
