India-based truck aggregator TruKKer Technologies Pvt Ltd has raised $1.4m through a seed funding round led by Raed VC and Riyad Capital.

Other investors in the funding include 500 Startups Management Company, Arzan Venture Capital and Averroes Capital.

BAAK Blankenburg-Verbinding consortium has secured a €1bn ($1.18bn) contract from the Netherlands Directorate-General for Public Works and Water Management (Rijkswaterstaat) to construct the A24 Blankenburgverbinding project in Rotterdam.

The contract involves modernisation of roads, construction of a 4km-long motorway, an underwater tunnel in Rotterdam port, and an underground tunnel to connect the A20 and A15 motorways.

Management and maintenance of the infrastructure is covered by the contract for 20 years.

The BAAK consortium comprises Ballast Nedam, DEME and Macquarie Capital.

telent Technology Services has been awarded a contract worth approximately £500m ($669m) by Highways England for maintenance and management of the National Roads Telecommunication Services (NRTS) system. It supports a 7,000km-long road network across England.

Under the seven-year contract, telent will be responsible for all the telecommunication works carried out under the Government’s road investment strategy. It will also manage fibre and copper networks and provide approximately 30,000 devices to connect the Highways England regional control centres.

The services from telent will enhance the safety of commuters and workers, while reducing traffic congestion.

Asian Development Bank (ADB) has agreed to sanction a loan of $380m to assist the modernisation of a 280km road network in Mindanao, Philippines.

The project is estimated to include an investment of $503m, with $123m of funding coming from the Government of Philippines.

The loan will be used to build pavements, and for the design of 300km of national highways.
