HG Infra Engineering has received a contract for a road construction project from the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI).

The Rs9.97bn ($140m) project will be developed in Rajasthan, India, under the Bharatmala Pariyojana programme.

The engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract involves construction of an eight-lane roadway from Haryana-Rajasthan border to the intersection at SH44 section of Delhi-Vadodara greenfield alignment (NH-148N).

J B Riney & Co (Riney) has received a £110m ($144m) contract from the Harrow Council, UK.

The contractor will undertake the maintenance of highways in the north London borough under the contract.

Currently held by Kier, the existing maintenance contract will end in March 2019.

The new contract involves civil engineering works, street lighting, electrical works, and surfacing on roadways and pavements. The initial contract term is five years, with an option for extension to a maximum of ten years.

Juneau Associates has received a tollway prime professional services contract in Illinois, US.

The company will be responsible to deliver construction, management, and supervision services for the I-294 Central Tri-State tollway.

Work will also cover the maintenance of sidewalks, demolition of structures, and relocation of the Flag Create Sanitary District sanitary sewer.

The project forms part of the $4bn I-294 Tri-State Reconstruction project.

Xilinx and ZF Friedrichshafen have partnered to jointly develop automated driving solutions.

Xilinx technology will power ZF’s advanced artificial intelligence (AI) based automotive control unit called ZF ProAI to be used in driverless vehicle applications.

ZF is using the Xilinx Zynq UltraScale+ MPSoC platform for managing real-time data aggregation, pre-processing, and distribution.

STEER Tech and DropCar have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for developing autonomous vehicle solutions.

STEER Tech’s autonomous vehicle technology will be incorporated into DropCar’s Mobility Cloud platform.

Kerslake Group has secured a contract for building a 2.8km section of the principal shared path (PSP) along the Fremantle railway line.

BAM Farrans has been awarded a contract by Norfolk County Council for building a third river crossing in Great Yarmouth, UK.

Works on the new lifting bridge are expected to be started in late-2020 and be completed in early-2023.

The bridge will link the A47 at Harfrey’s Roundabout on the western side of the river with South Denes Road and the port and Enterprise Zone on the eastern side, reducing traffic on the seaside town’s existing Haven and Breydon bridges.

WISeKey has partnered with SINCODE for developing WISekey ISTANA connected cars solution in China.

The WISeKey ISTANA I platform enables smart car manufacturers to certify the authenticity of different vehicle spares.

Certificate-based security will safeguard over-the-air software updates and onboard communication between vehicle components. It can be used by employees, dealers, and suppliers for accessing car components to determine mechanical/technical problems and remotely update the software.

The platform also allows users to securely connect with a car’s smart features with the help of smartphones and other devices.

Bouygues Travaux Publics has received a €167.1m ($192m) contract from Bina-Istra concession for the fourth phase of Istria Motorway in Croatia.

The contract will involve the widening of a 28.1km section of the Istria Motorway to four lanes.

Bouygues will undertake phase 2B1, which will involve the expansion of the stretch between Rogovici in the west of the peninsula and Vranja in the east. The upgrade will convert the existing road into a four-lane dual roadway toll road.

Cubic has agreed to acquire GRIDSMART Technologies in a cash transaction worth $87m.

The acquisition is set to bring $35m in sales revenue and $8m of adjusted EBITDA for full calendar year 2019.

Cubic will fund the acquisition using its existing credit facilities.

Highway Concessions One holds seven operating roads, including five toll roads and two annuity roads across seven states in India.

Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP) acquired IDFC Alternatives’ infrastructure investment business in 2018.

The portfolio of Highway Concessions One is expected to bring a premium of approximately $700m to IDFC.
