ST Engineering has partnered with SafeRide Technologies for the development of advanced technological solutions to safeguard connected and autonomous vehicles (AV) against cyber threats.

ST Engineering will integrate its connected electric vehicles and AV platforms with vSentry, cybersecurity suite of SafeRide.

Integration of vSentry with the AV platforms will ensure multi-layered protection against potential cyber threats.

The US Federal Highway Administration has awarded a five-year contract worth $19.5m to Iteris for the intelligent transportation systems (ITS) reference architecture programme.

The indefinite-delivery-indefinite-quantity contract will see Iteris providing development and installation assistance required for the programme.

US-based self-driving automobile manufacturer May Mobility has partnered with Magna to support the development of its self-driving shuttles for deployment in the US market.

Magna will retrofit the self-driving micro transit electric vehicles of May Mobility from the chassis up.

The initial fleet of electric vehicles will be rolled out on 26 June.

DHL Freight has acquired four liquefied natural gas (LNG)-powered Stralis trucks from Iveco.

Trucks will be deployed by DHL to create a sustainable transport solution for an athletic footwear and sportswear provider.

The deal forms part of DHL’s strategy to transform its freight transport system into emission-free by 2050.

Volvo Cars has acquired a stake in AV sensor technology manufacturer Luminar through Volvo Cars Tech Fund for an undisclosed sum.

The new investment strengthens Volvo Cars’ existing partnership with Luminar, which includes the development of LiDAR sensing technology on Volvo cars.
