Deutsche Einheit Fernstraßen-planungs-und-bau (DEGES) has awarded a €183m ($214.6m) contract to Strabag for the construction of a 6km-long stretch of the BAB 44 highway.

The new road section is located between Wehretal-Oetmannshausen and Sontra-West junction in Germany.

It will connect the federal highway network between the BAB 7 highway near Kassel and the BAB 4 highway near Wommen, upon completion.

Züblin Tunnelling will act as the general contractor for the project and will coordinate with Strabag Large-Scale Projects & Waterproofing and Züblin Ground Engineering for the construction work.

An Ertech and Georgiou Group joint venture has been awarded a contract to build Stage 4 of the Northern Road upgrade in western Sydney.

“Aggregate Industries SWR has secured a $58.6m construction contract from the Nevada Department of Transportation for the upgrade of a 9.6km-long two-lane stretch of Blue Diamond Road.”

Construction work under the contract will start in October 2018 and is expected to be completed by 2021.

The Stage 4 upgrade performed between Mersey Road at Bringelly and Eaton Road at Luddenham will provide connections to the A$5.3bn ($3.9bn) Western Sydney Airport.

The project is intended to address future transport demand and enhance the safety of commuters.

Aggregate Industries SWR has secured a $58.6m construction contract from the Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) for the upgrade of a 9.6km-long two-lane stretch of Blue Diamond Road in south-west Clark County.

The two-lane asphalt highway between Mile Markers 16 and 22 will be transformed into a four-lane road.

The contract also includes rebuilding and paving the eastbound lanes between Mountain Springs Community and the Nye County line, construction of a median concrete barrier, hydro-seeding 28 acres of land, and planting 784 trees.

The project is scheduled for completion by 2020.

Tianjin Infrastructure Construction & Investment (Group) intends to raise CNY1bn ($158.82m) through the offering of medium-term notes.

The notes will yield a coupon rate of 4.55% a year until maturity in April 2021.

Transport for London (TfL) has reached an agreement with Transport for West Midlands (TfWM) for the exchange of transportation-related information and knowledge.

The organisations intend to address transportation issues, reduce traffic congestion and enhance safety measures through the knowledge-sharing deal.

The collaboration will further concentrate on traffic flow patterns to improve connectivity and to adopt advanced technologies. The partners will also enhance open-data for developers through the TfL’s API platform to boost productivity.
