NW 33 Innovation Corridor Council of Governments has selected Michael Baker International for providing technical supervision and programme management services.

Michael Baker International will be responsible for the seamless implementation of the connected vehicle technologies across a 35mi (56.3km) stretch on US Route 33 in Ohio, under the contract.

The contractor company will install smart traffic signals, connected vehicle roadside devices and technology on 1,200 vehicles. A smart network will also be established by the contractor for data management across the corridor.

Oxfordshire County Council has selected telent Technology Services for the maintenance of traffic signals network.

telent will install intelligent transport systems (ITS) equipment across the Oxfordshire region and also maintain the installed systems for a period of five years.

The contract includes an option for extension by an additional three years.

Highways England has awarded two commercial services contracts to Turner & Townsend.

The first contract will see Turner & Townsend providing cost-management and performance enhancement services for the A303 upgrade project for a period of three years.

The upgrade project is expected to enhance regional connectivity and provide a better travel experience for the commuters.

Turner & Townsend will offer consultancy services for the upgrade works on M6 and M62 smart motorways, under the second contract.

Edge Case Research (ECR) intends to partner with Kaarta, a real-time 3D mapping and positioning services provider based in the US, to enhance the road testing of self-driving vehicles.

Kaarta’s 3D mapping technology will be used by ECR to map Pittsburgh’s streets. The obtained maps will be fed to ECR’s Hologram platform.

The platform enables the developers to address the existing safety issues of autonomous vehicles.

Construction Partners intends to raise gross proceeds of $207m through the placement of its Class A common stock shares in an initial public offering (IPO).

Based in the US, Construction Partners offers road construction services.

The proceeds will be used for consolidating the company’s capital reserves and for general corporate purposes. The proceeds may also be used for potential acquisitions by the company.
