Sony Corporation has entered an agreement with six taxi companies based in Japan to form a consortium.

The consortium will work towards the development of a taxi-hailing system based on artificial intelligence (AI).

The taxi-hailing system will be used to improve customer service by managing cab dispatches.

The participating firms in the alliance include Daiwa Motor Transportation, Green Cab Company, International Motor, kokusai motorcars, Checker Cab Group and Hinomaru Kotsu.

The European Investment Bank (EIB) has agreed to offer a €250m ($308m) loan for the development of the A10/A24 motorway in Brandenburg, Germany.

The developmental activates include conversion of a 29.6km-long stretch on A10 motorway into a six-lane road, and refurbishment of a four-lane section of A24 motorway between Neuruppin and Kremmen.

A portion of the allotted funds will also be used for the maintenance of a 5.4km-long stretch between both motorways.

EIB will also set up an €8.3m ($10.2) debt service reserve facility (DSRF) to avoid cash shortages during the development activities.

Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), along with AVTOBAN and Makyol, has established a consortium to oversee the implementation of the final phase development  of Central Ring Road in Moscow.

The fourth and final phase involves the construction of a 96.5km-long road at a cost of RUR85.4bn ($1.51bn).

The Central Ring Road project includes the development of nine flyovers, overpasses, eco-gardens and 17 bridges.

The project will facilitate the commutation of approximately 40,300 vehicles a day by 2030.

E Ink Holdings, in collaboration with Papercast, intends to set up solar-powered smart information display systems in Japanese bus stops.

The pilot project will be implemented in Aizuwakamatsu city.
