The Maryland Transportation Authority (MDTA) has awarded a long-term contract to Transcore to modernise its tolling technology and service in order to improve the overall customer experience.

The contract, which is valued at $272m, will see Transcore providing the design, build, operation and maintenance of a customer service centre solution to the MDTA.

As part of the contract, Transcore’s Integrity back office system will be installed for a period of ten years.

The solution will enable MDTA to keep track of the financial transactions and interact with E-ZPass, law enforcement agencies and so on.

The Cameroon Public Works Ministry has awarded two contracts having a combined value of €214m ($261m) to Sogea-Satom, an African subsidiary of Vinci construction.

Sogea-Satom will work on the refurbishment of a 135km road section on RN15 from Lena to Tibati as part of the first contract. It will also construct a carriageway and five bridges and setup signage boards. Further, 6.7km of roads in Tibati will be rehabilitated as part of the contract.

The second contract will see the construction of a 106km road from Olama to Bigambo. It will also include construction of five span bridges, drainage channels and 13km of urban roads.

The works under the first contract are expected to be completed in May 2020, while those under the second contract will be finished by June 2022.

Maire Tecnimont (Maire) intends to raise gross proceeds of €250m ($310m) through the placement of senior unsecured notes in a public offering.

The settlement of the notes, due 30 April 2024, is scheduled for 3 May.

Based in Italy, Maire Tecnimont offers engineering and construction related services.

The Texas Department of Transportation has awarded a $60.2m rehabilitation contract to Texas Sterling Construction, a subsidiary of Sterling Construction Company.

The scope of the contract includes widening a section of Interstate 10 highway in Boerne, Texas. It further includes 6.2 miles (9.97km) of asphalt pavement and construction of two new bridges at West Bandera Road and South Main Street.

The construction is expected to start in June and will be finished within three years.
