Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has signed an agreement with Emirates Transport Driving Institute to train passenger transport drivers.

The collaboration is part of RTA’s policy to keep drivers abreast of the latest industry practices and improve cooperation with the private sector.

RTA CEO Ahmed Bahrozyan said: “The agreement aims to improve the quality of training by availing of advanced and new programmes of the private sector in support of passenger transport activities in Dubai.

“It reflects RTA’s commitment to improving the training programmes and engaging the private sector in enhancing passenger transport service in Dubai.”

Bahrozyan added that the agreement with Emirates Transport Driving Institute opens extra channels for delivering passenger transport training services.

The collaboration is also expected to expand the service delivery points to speed up the training process and supply sufficient drivers to meet the growing demands for the service in Dubai.

Emirates Transport Driving Institute centre director Abdullah Abdul Rahman said: “The team of the Institute and me take pride in the confidence reposed in the Institute by RTA’s Public Transport Agency. The new agreement cements the solid cooperation and strategic partnership between the Emirates Transport and RTA.

“The Emirates Transport Driving Institute will cater to drivers training services as provided for in the agreement.”
