Iteris has secured a four-year consulting services and software-as-a-service (SaaS) contract from Hillsborough County in Florida, the US. The contract has a ceiling of $8m.

Under this contract, Iteris will be responsible for providing traffic signal retiming, active arterial management, traffic operations support, connected vehicle priority and preemption system programme management.

Iteris has also agreed to provide a mobility intelligence SaaS solution, as well as traffic management centre (TMC) operations and staffing services.

Iteris Transportation Systems associate vice-president Joe Molinaro said: “We are proud to support Hillsborough County’s goal of improving safety and mobility for all road users with this wide-ranging smart mobility and safety programme.

“This initiative represents the continued expansion of Iteris’ specialised consulting services in a key geographic market, and will help to support the management and operation of the region’s existing mobility infrastructure while ensuring it is equipped to accommodate emerging technologies such as connected and automated vehicles.”

In addition, Hillsborough County has announced that it will extend its use of the upgraded version of the Iteris ClearGuide mobility intelligence SaaS solution, which now features automated signal performance measures (ATSPM) capabilities, for the duration of the programme.

By deploying Iteris’ smart mobility infrastructure management system, Hillsborough County aims to improve safety and mobility for all road users in the community, which spans Tampa, Plant City and Temple Terrace.

Iteris intends to commence the smart mobility and safety programme immediately.
