Foresight Autonomous Holdings has completed a controlled trial of its Eye-Net accident prevention solution in the Israeli city of Ashdod.

A cellular-based vehicle to everything (V2X) solution, Eye-Net is designed to issue real-time pre-collision alerts to vehicles and pedestrians through smartphones.

The trial was conducted in collaboration with traffic management systems developer NoTraffic at a central intersection in Ashdod with the support of Israel’s Ministry of Transport and the Ayalon Highway company.

At the trials, supervision services were provided by Blue and White Robotics (BWR).

The trial was aimed at integrating new technologies designed to be deployed in smart cities, as well as enhancing communication between road users and smart infrastructure.

“Foresight claimed that in all scenarios, participating parties with the Eye-Net application installed on their phones received real-time notifications to prevent traffic collisions.”

During the trial, new technology was integrated with the NoTraffic smart system deployed at the Ashdod intersection where multiple simulated accident scenarios involving vehicles and pedestrians were carried out.

Foresight CEO Haim Siboni said: “This collaboration enabled us to test our ability to integrate with smart infrastructure in order to reduce the number of accidents in an urban environment.

“Integration with the NoTraffic system enabled Foresight to examine a variety of realistic scenarios, all of which presented impressive results.”

Foresight claimed that in all scenarios, participating parties with the Eye-Net application installed on their phones received real-time notifications to prevent traffic collisions.

In the second stage of the trial, the integration of Eye-Net system and NoTraffic’s smart infrastructure system was tested in simulated accident scenarios.

These scenarios involved Eye-Net system connected and non-connected participants.

NoTraffic’s system successfully detected and notified the non-connected party using a smart sensor to prevent a possible collision.

Recently, Foresight signed an agreement to merge its Eye-Net-related activities into Tamda.
