Shell New Energies’ subsidiary and electric vehicle (EV) charging solutions provider Greenlots have introduced the first DC fast-charging station in Singapore.

The EV solution has been deployed at a Shell service station and will provide EV drivers with easy vehicle charging.

Over the coming months, Greenlots will install another nine DC fast-chargers at Shell service stations in Singapore.

The decision to choose Singapore for the introduction of the EV solutions forms part of the company’s strategy to expand across Asia and North America.

Greenlots CEO Brett Hauser said: “Greenlots and Shell have been exploring synergies since we were acquired earlier this year.

“This project demonstrates our collective commitment to enable electrified transportation around the world, specifically in Singapore where Greenlots was founded and bolsters Greenlots’ expansion in Southeast Asia.

“Supporting Shell’s EV charging network in Singapore is a logical extension of the work we’ve been doing there to provide charging solutions at home, at work, for fleets and on-the-go, and reinforces Greenlots’ status as a global leader in the EV charging industry.”

According to Greenlots, these new fast-chargers at Shell stations will expedite their adoption in Singapore, which expects increased demand from users seeking to convert their vehicles to electric.

Greenlots is headquartered in Los Angeles, California, and dedicated to advancing electrified transportation.

The company has undertaken EV charging projects with major utilities, automakers and energy companies.
