Jacobs Engineering Group has won a six-year contract and will work with Costain to deliver Highways England’s multibillion-pound regional delivery partnership framework.

This new framework is expected to be key for Highways England’s strategy to enhance safety, boost capacity to improve user experience across its national road network.

Jacobs Engineering has won work in both the north and east regions.

Under the contract, Jacobs and its partner will be responsible for development, design and construction of capital road projects.

These road projects form part of the Regional Investment Programme, which consists of during Road Period 1 (2015-2020) and Road Period 2 (2020-2025).

Jacobs will leverage its regional relationships, design and planning capability and experience in both these regions.

Highways England is responsible for planning, improving, managing, operating and maintaining England’s Strategic Road Network, more than 4,300 miles of motorways and major A roads.

Jacobs is supporting Highways England’s National Infrastructure and Regional Investment Programmes and its Smart Motorway Programme in addition to programmes for Transport Scotland and the Welsh Government.
