Iteris has secured a new Wave 2 Traffic Engineering indefinite-delivery indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) contract with a three-year commitment from Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) in the US.

The new contract has a potential value of up to $3m. It represents the third major contract by TxDOT to Iteris in the last 14 months.

Work is expected in multiple areas, including traffic signal design and timing, and intelligent transport system planning and integration.

It will include a multi-district contract for TxDOT in Austin, San Antonio, Houston, as well as statewide.

“With this being the third TxDOT IDIQ awarded to Iteris in the past 14 months, we expect to further expand our consulting and integration services in the state.”

Iteris Transportation Systems western region vice-president and assistant general manager Scott Carlson said: “We are proud to be selected again by TxDOT to support important infrastructure projects in the state of Texas, one of the largest and most progressive transportation markets in the US.

“Texas is a strategic geographical focus for Iteris and, with this being the third TxDOT IDIQ awarded to Iteris in the past 14 months, we expect to further expand our consulting and integration services in the state.”

In November, TxDOT San Antonio district awarded a two-year IDIQ contract to Iteris for traffic engineering and signal timing works.

Headquartered in California, US, Iteris focuses on providing consulting services and developing applied informatics for transportation and agriculture to create new solutions.

The company procures, aggregates and evaluates information and data on traffic, roads, and weather, as well as other associated aspects to develop accurate information for safe transportation.
