Naza Group of Companies subsidiary Naza Engineering & Construction (Naza EC) has secured a contract to carry out major upgrading works at the Jalan Tun Razak, connecting Jalan Langgak Golf to the Kampung Pandan roundabout in Malaysia.

Under the contract initiated by Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur (DBKL), Naza EC will build a fully elevated, three-lane single carriageway road stretching 2.8km.

The completed roadway will comprise a 1.2km mainline and 1.6km of ingress and egress ramps.

The new carriageway is expected to reduce traffic congestion during peak hours along Jalan Tun Razak, which serves as an important exit point from Kuala Lumpur city centre.

Complementing the number of lanes at the Jalan Tun Razak, the new elevated carriageway will facilitate traffic movement from interconnecting roads Jalan Bukit Bintang, Jalan Kampung Pandan, Maju Expressway (MEX) and the future Setiawangsa Pantai Expressway (SPE).

Traffic movement will further improve after the nearby TRX City development is completed and fully operational.

According to Traffic Impact Assessment (TIA), the carriageway will support up to 2,400 vehicles daily during peak hours.

The project is scheduled to be completed by the middle of next year.

A groundbreaking ceremony was held to mark the start of upgrading works as part of the project, which was attended by Deputy Minister of Federal Territories YB Dato’ Dr Loga Bala Mohan and Mayor of Kuala Lumpur YBhg Tan Sri Hj Mhd Amin Nordin bin Abd Aziz.
