UK-based engineering consultancy Amey has been selected as Roads Service Northern Ireland’s (RSNI) transport and highways engineering consultancy partner for the third consecutive term.

The up-to £10m contract will begin on 26 April, and will run for three years with the option of extensions.

Amey has worked with RSNI since 2005, offering a complete range of highways design and consultancy support.

"We are delighted to continue our very successful relationship with Roads Service Northern Ireland."

Services provided by Amey include asset management, design, investigation, transportation planning, environmental management and construction management.

Amey chief executive Mel Ewell said: "We are delighted to continue our very successful relationship with Roads Service Northern Ireland.

"Our engineering expertise has supported our client in achieving a number of award winning and best practice transport and highways solutions for Northern Ireland and we look forward to working together to build on this success."

The latest contract requirements are serviced by a team of about 100 engineers based at Amey’s offices in Belfast.

In February this year, Amey, as part of the consortium led by Ferrovial, secured commercial and financial close of contract to extend and upgrade Central Scotland motorway network.

The M8, M73 and M74 Motorway Improvements scheme has an estimated construction cost of around £310m.
