CH2M, a global engineering company, has secured a contract from The General Directorate for National Roads and Highways (GDDKiA) in Poland.

As per the terms of the contract, CH2M will be responsible for developing a corridor study, technical-economic-environmental study and obtaining an environmental decision for the reconstruction of National Road No.75, Section Brzesko – Nowy Sacz.

CH2M transportation business development manager Artur Mazurek said: “Our team in Krakow has delivered numerous similar transportation projects in Poland and globally over the last couple of years.

“This reconstruction project is interesting for us as we’ll be able to bring our global portfolio of roadway and tunneling best practices to our work on National Road No. 75.”

The engineering firm will be developing five reconstruction design options, including a non-investment option based on maintenance of traffic and safety, for the 50km-long section of National Road No.75.

The company will conduct a study on geographical, natural and social assessments, as well as multi-criteria and traffic safety analysis.

CH2M will be constructing a new road tunnel under Just Mountain, and improving road nodes and structures.

It will also build new service roads for supporting adjacent areas in the design section and environmental protection and equipment facilities.

CH2M has a workforce of more than 700 engineers and specialists, serving transportation, water, industrial and energy clients across the globe. It is located in Krakow, Poland.
