Residents of Lincoln, Nebraska, US, will be able to manage their parking through their mobile phone using the PassportParking payment service.

Drivers can now pay and extend their parking sessions using the app, mobile website or interactive voice system.

Parking Network reports that users can also receive reminders and notifications for parking sessions that are about to expire, which will help them to manage their parking sessions better.

"Customers parking in Lincoln will no longer have to worry about having enough change for parking or running back to their meter to add more time."

In order to use this facility, smartphone users will need to download the app from the official website or register by phone.

Lincoln parking manager Wayne Mixdorf said: "With Passport Mobile Pay, customers parking in Lincoln will no longer have to worry about having enough change for parking or running back to their meter to add more time."

Once registered on the site, users can pay by using the app, website or by calling the local toll-free number.

Drivers will need to enter the zone and space number listed on signage to pay and select the amount of time they wish to stay. They can also extend their parking sessions, add or update their payment details and manage notification options.
