UK-based asset management consultancy, Amey and drone technology company VTOL have entered a joint venture (JV) as part of which the latter will supply its patented autonomous drones named The Flying WingAmey to the former for performing quick inspections on bridges and railways.

Amey boasts that it will be the world’s first to use such technology to inspect client's infrastructure.

The drone is capable of capturing and streaming data in real-time to a data processing engine.

Kapsch TrafficCom Australia has reached an agreement with Transurban Queensland to replace the existing road tolling system over 60km Gateway and Logan motorways.

Valued at €9m ($9.96m), the agreement makes the Australian unit of Kapsch TrafficCom liable to place new toll systems including single-gantry multi-lane free-flow (MLFF) platform and stereoscopic vision technology for both vehicle detection and classification (VDC) and automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) across 14 points on gateway and logan motorways.
