The International Road Dynamics (IRD) has won a $1.8m ($1.7m) contract from the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) to install a border crossing system at Mariposa Port of Entry at the US-Mexico border crossing.

IRD will deliver a screening system which includes weigh-in-motion scales, license plate readers, USDOT readers, automatic vehicle identification, and an EPIC (Expedited Processing at International Crossings) system.

The system will pre-screen vehicles, which pass through each of the seven lanes at the crossing.

ADOT will use the screening data to determine whether each vehicle meets all the screening criteria, if so then it will be allowed to move ahead without the need for any manual screening.
