Jacobs Engineering SA (JESA), a joint venture between Jacobs Engineering Group and OCP S.A. (OCP), was awarded a contract to provide project management consultancy (PMC) services to the African Society of Investments and Infrastructure (SA2I) for the Intercity Bus / Metro Station in Abidjan in the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire.

JESA will provide PMC services for a capital expenditure of approximately $80m.

Jacobs Engineering Group Buildings and Infrastructure president Bob Pragada said: “Abidjan is the Côte d'Ivoire’s main hub for international bus lines, and this new metro project is expected to make a significant contribution to the modernization of the road transport system and improved customer experience.

The joint venture company JESA, will be equally owned by OCP and Jacobs. It will also provide services to industrial projects in Morocco and internationally.

JESA intends to strengthen its presence in the region with a new office in Abidjan, which is expected to be opened by the end of this year.
