Kapsch TrafficCom has completed the acquisition of US-based advanced traffic management software and systems integration company Transdyn from Powell Industries.

The $16m acquisition will enable Kapsch to provide an extended end-to-end product and solution portfolio for intelligent transportation systems (ITS) to its customers across the globe.

Transdyn is a systems integrator delivering ITS solutions that will enable the clients to safely and securely manage and control vital facilities and processes, including highways, bridges, and tunnels.

Kapsch TrafficCom Group CEO Georg Kapsch said: "The current customer trend clearly shows the desire for a converged tolling and traffic management offering.

Transdyn offers a variety of services, including planning, design, systems integration, project management, software development, installation, commissioning, training, maintenance, and long-term support.

Its traffic management systems are currently installed in more than 30 transportation facilities across the US.
