NAVTEQ has expanded its map coverage in Argentina, enabling access to improved data for developing navigation and location-based applications.

The company noted that the service is available for all Argentinean cities with a population greater than 5,000.

The map data comprises various road attributes and geometry verified with more than 200 road network attributes.

NAVTEQ noted that local geographic analysts verify the accuracy of the map’s content and its customers use the maps to create navigation applications for vehicles, personal navigation devices mobile handsets, tablets and the web.

The visual content portfolio for Argentina includes 3D landmarks and enhanced 3D city models, with enhanced junction views and motorway junction objects also available.

The country specific maps can further be enriched with NAVTEQ’s portfolio of map content such as voice products that enable audible guidance cues and improved visual content portfolio, the company said.
