APP

Software and consulting services provider PTV Group has introduced the latest version of its Navigator app, which offers drivers a range of services in addition to navigation.

According to PTC, the new 9.0 Android version of the PTV Navigator app can now be downloaded for free in the Google Play Store with a 14-day trial.

PTV Group Logistics senior product manager Michael Hubschneider said: "The trend in mobile navigation is clearly heading in the direction of assisted navigation."

"With the new PTV Navigator app, in addition to better routing, we are offering the user a personal and individualised wizard, and with it, genuine added value."

The new app offers the chance to include along the route more than 15,000 parking and rest options from the Truck Parking Europe app, allowing truck drivers to find spaces using the app data.

The version also provides information pertaining to current traffic conditions.

TomTom HD Traffic Service provides detailed reports informing the driver about the traffic situations on his route to better assess the arrival time and choose the efficient route.

With the help of PTV Navigator app, dispatchers can send complete trips or even route plans from pre-calculation systems, such as PTV Map&Guide, PTV xServer or PTV Smartour for example, as an e-mail attachment to the driver’s mobile end device.
