Norway-based Q-Free and PT Rin have signed a Nkr940m ($171m) contract to deliver an Electronic Law Enforcement (ELE) system to Jakarta (DKI) and Bodetabek in Indonesia.

The ELE-system will be based on Q-Free’s tolling solutions and will be used by the Jakarta police to control traffic.

The system will provide more efficient process for registration and control of registered vehicles as well help track stolen vehicles, fake number plates and security related incidents.

It will improve security for the public through an encrypted electronic monitoring of vehicles in the city of Jakarta.

The six-year contract also includes road side infrastructure, operational back office, tags and a service and maintenance contract.

The system will be delivered in two years.
