Swedish traffic safety and informatics developer Sensys Traffic has secured orders to supply speed and red-light enforcement equipment for two customers in the Middle East.

The orders from undisclosed customers are worth SEK1.7m ($263,651).

Sensys signed a traffic-safety collaboration deal with a partner in the Middle East in 2013, to deliver systems for pilot projects.

"The pilot project that we delivered last year has already given results with a subsequent firm order."

One of the current orders is a consequence of this agreement and will strengthen the company’s presence in the Middle East market.

The other order, which has come from an existing customer, involves supply of spare parts. Both are scheduled to be delivered during the current quarter.

Sensys Traffic CEO Johan Frilund said: "We are very pleased with these orders, and find it very positive that the pilot project that we delivered last year has already given results with a subsequent firm order."

Sensys Traffic develops and markets several systems for traffic informatics and traffic safety fields, including speed and red-light enforcement products.

The company’s speed enforcement systems, which are based on the RS240 multi-tracking radar, include fixed-speed enforcement and mobile speed enforcement systems.

The fixed-speed Speed Safety System is capable of tracking multiple vehicles simultaneously, while the Mobile Speed Safety System is non-intrusive and features radar, a processing and data storage unit and a digital camera.
