Streetline, a US-based provider of smart parking services and real-time parking data, has introduced ParkerMap, a tool that enables parking providers, cities, merchants and universities to provide information on nearby parking options.

Through ParkerMap, users can display both on and off-street parking, and show rates, hours, and other information to do with parking locations.

The new free web self-service tool also makes sharing parking information with others easy through a link on the website.

Streetline president and CEO Zia Yusuf said that the company aims to provide parking data via as many channels as possible and that ParkerMap is another tool to make parking data broadly available to motorists.

"Whether you’re a merchant trying to bring customers to your establishment, a university managing an influx of visitors for the big game, or a city looking to reduce congestion downtown, letting motorists know where they can park is key," Yusuf added.

"Through ParkerMap, users can display both on and off-street parking, and show rates, hours, and other information to do with parking locations."

Streetline’s patented smart parking platform detects the presence of a car via a network of ultra-low power wireless sensors deployed in individual parking spaces.

Information from these sensors, or from counting equipment installed in parking garages and lots, is then made available in real time through ParkerMap, various cloud-based applications, including Parker consumer guidance app for smartphones, tablets, personal computers and in-car navigation systems, as well as other applications for city planners and parking facility operators.

In addition to real-time data, Streetline also integrates garage data for more than 23,000 locations.

Users can generate custom maps by entering an address and it will produce unique HTML code that can be dropped into any website.

City of Fort Lauderdale, Oregon State University, San Mateo Downtown Association and Mandaloun Restaurant in Redwood City, California, are among the cities that currently use ParkerMap.
