The Texas Department of Transportation in the US will complete the construction of the Ben White / Interstate 35 interchange by next week with the opening of the final flyover running from westbound Ben White to southbound I-35.

The $135m Ben White Boulevard and Interstate-35 highway construction project, commenced in 2006, includes the construction of eight flyovers.

The department plans to complete the construction of all the new ramps and flyovers at the intersection by 12 December 2011 and open it to traffic.

The key segment of the flyover, which will carry traffic from eastbound Ben White to southbound I-35, was opened in August.

The connector from northbound I-35 to eastbound Ben White was opened in mid-October.

After the project is complete, two ramps will connect east and westbound Ben White Freeway to southbound Interstate 35 and two additional ramps will connect northbound interstate traffic with east and westbound Ben White.
