TomTom has extended its real-time traffic products to Australia, Canada, Luxembourg and Poland, bringing the total number of countries served to 18.

Real-time traffic products from TomTom can be incorporated into navigation solutions or routing tools, or can act as stand-alone traffic monitoring and reporting systems.

TomTom said the products can reduce transport costs by eliminating the need to install or maintain fixed measurement systems and by more efficiently using the existing road network.

The products will become available in additional countries before the end of year and into 2012.

The 14 other countries TomTom already serves are the UK, the US, Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Portugal, South Africa, Spain and Switzerland.
