TransCore has secured two contracts from the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) in the US, for maintaining its Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS).

The two maintenance contracts totalling $40m have been awarded to the company for a period of five years.

TransCore ITS Services senior vice-president Tim Fischer said: “For over 20 years, TransCore has proudly partnered with FDOT districts to provide motorists with a reliable, first-class ITS infrastructure that meets the needs of one of the fastest growing states in the country."

Awarded by FDOT District 6, TransCore’s first contract includes maintenance of SunGuide ITS infrastructure in Miami-Dade and Monroe counties.

"TransCore will be responsible for maintaining the agency’s statewide ITS communications network."

As part of the second contract awarded by the FDOT Central Office, TransCore will be responsible for maintaining the agency’s statewide ITS communications network.

The scope of the second contract includes maintenance of microwave transmission and land mobile radio infrastructure, and tower facilities supporting the network throughout the State of Florida, including the Florida Keys.

Both the contracts will be effective through June 2022 with a five-year renewal option.

TransCore, a wholly owned subsidiary of Roper Technologies, provides technical solutions and engineering services for Open Road Tolling and Traffic Management Systems.
