TransCore has deployed its TransSuite software solution to improve the coordination of multiple traffic management systems in Guayaquil, Ecuador.

In February, TransCore was selected by the Municipal Transit Authority of the City of Guayaquil to integrate TransSuite with its existing traffic signal controllers.

TransSuite includes transportation management software products, which have been designed to meet a wide range of traffic management requirements, including management of traffic lights, providing real-time traveller information, and responding to roadway incidents.

The suite also offers high-resolution maps and graphical displays, which enables a coordinated response for planned, as well as unplanned events.

With the help of TransSuite, traffic engineers will have the option to control all ITS devices and services, including traffic signal controllers, dynamic message signs, and CCTV.

"The suite also offers high-resolution maps and graphical displays, which enables a coordinated response for planned, as well as unplanned events."

The project was completed in two phases, and the first phase works included the creation of an integrated system to work with controllers manufactured by different companies, in addition to the city’s SCATS-based adaptive traffic management system.

The first phase works also included implementation of an RFID-based bus priority system using TransCore readers and tags.

TransCore was involved in the second phase, where it was engaged in the integration of additional controllers, CCTV, and Bluetooth readers for travel time calculations into TransSuite.

For this project, TransCore worked along with other firms that included its South American partner, SIC TransCore, and Alcolisti, an Ecuadorian firm that is leading the project.
