The Utah Department of Transportation (DOT) in the US has selected Aurigo’s software to upgrade its construction management system.

Aurigo Masterworks software will be deployed over the cloud and will be Utah DOT’s new construction project controls software.

Aurigo Software CEO Balaji Sreenivasan said: "State DOTs across the US are looking to improve and replace their legacy systems that are being used to plan and deliver billions of dollars worth of capital infrastructure."

"State DOTs across the US are looking to improve and replace their legacy systems that are being used to plan and deliver billions of dollars worth of capital infrastructure."

Aurigo Masterworks will replace all of Utah DOT’s legacy programmes for construction management, according to a notification by the state of Utah.

By using Masterworks, Utah DOT has identified six major areas of expected improvements and expected to gain annual savings of between $9.5m and $19m.

It is believed that the US transportation infrastructure is falling apart and is said to be in need of high investments.

Most of the transportation organisations are said to be using the technology, which is ageing and the savings that modern technology can bring in reducing cost of project delivery are significant.

Aurigo Software provides cloud-based capital programme and project portfolio management software for infrastructure owners, including government agencies and Fortune 1000 companies.
