UK-based project management and technical consultancy WYG has completed the acquisition of transport and infrastructure consultancy FMW Consultancy (FMW).

The acquisition allows WYG to expand its transport offering across the south and south-west of England and South Wales, as well as further strengthens its position as one of the largest transport and infrastructure planning consultancies in the UK.

“This acquisition is a significant boost to our capability and excellent news for our clients across the south and south-west of England and Wales.”

FMW operates mainly from offices in Bristol, Cardiff and Manchester for clients, including housebuilders Persimmon, Barratt Homes, Redrow, Dyson, and a number of retailers and commercial developers.

The transaction is in line with WYG’s strategy of growing its core front-end consultancy offering through selective acquisitions.

WYG transport head Peter Blair said: “We have long-standing admiration and respect for our colleagues from FMW and welcome them to WYG.

“This acquisition is a significant boost to our capability and excellent news for our clients across the south and south-west of England and Wales.”

According to WYG, the range of expertise, clients and services offered by FMW complements it and allows to improve its transport services in key infrastructure, residential and energy markets.

FMW managing director Richard White said: “We share common values and goals, and the additional services that WYG provides, such as environmental, urban landscape design and engineering, will be of tremendous value to our existing clients.”
