HG Infra Engineering has been awarded a Rs9.97bn ($140m) road construction project by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) under the Bharatmala programme.

A statement of the company was cited by news agency PTI as saying: “HG Infra Engineering Limited, a leading player in the road construction sector is declared L-1 bidder by NHAI for new engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) project in Rajasthan under Bharatmala Pariyojana. The cost of the project is Rs9.97bn ($140m).”

The contract includes the construction of an eight-lane carriageway from Haryana-Rajasthan border to the junction at SH44 section of Delhi-Vadodara greenfield alignment (NH-148N).

“We have been able to bag two back-to-back high-value orders in the same month from NHAI.”

In addition, the company won a Rs5.65bn ($79.33m) order worth for an NHAI road project in Haryana on 11 January. With this contract, the total value of its orders has increased to Rs60.62bn ($851.2m).

HG Infra Engineering chairman and managing director Harendra Singh told the publication: “We have been able to bag two back-to-back high-value orders in the same month from NHAI.

“This proves our order domain expertise and strong execution capabilities in the infrastructure sector.”

HG Infra offers EPC services on a fixed-sum turnkey basis. The company specialises in civil construction and related infrastructure projects in the road construction sector.

Currently, HG Infra has 22 projects to complete and operates in Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Uttarakhand, Maharashtra and Arunachal Pradesh.
