North American smart parking solutions provider Parkmobile has introduced a new app feature that will enable users to find available on-street parking spots in more than 100 cities across the US.

The feature is available in iOS and android platforms and will be accessible for ParkmobilePro members.

Studies have shown that the average person spends around 17 hours annually to locate parking that costs time, fuel and emissions.

The introduction of the new feature will help drivers quickly navigate the areas with more open parking and avoid regions where no parking space is available, thereby saving their time significantly.

Parkmobile CEO Jon Ziglar said: “In the past, we could show you where the parking spots were, but we had no way to tell you if a specific spot was taken.

“Our app will now help direct you to areas where parking is likely available, saving significant time and frustration as you’re on the road.”

“With this innovation, a person doesn’t have to waste time driving around the city looking for parking.

Parkmobile technology is used in more than 3,000 locations across the US in different locations, including college campuses, airports and stadiums.

Users can also pay for on-street and garage parking through the app without using a metre or kiosk.

Furthermore, Parkmobile offers parking reservations at stadium venues for concerts and sporting events, as well as in metro areas.

In January this year, the company received a major investment from BMW Group that will be used to accelerate its growth and expansion across North America.
