Acciona Construcción has selected Spanish technology company Sociedad Ibérica de Construcciones Eléctricas (SICE) to perform the integration of Caldearenas Tunnel control systems in the port of Monrepós, Huesca.

SICE will be responsible for the installation of the communications systems, variable signalling, GTC systems and SOS communication equipment.

The 3km-long Caldearenas Tunnel on the A-23 motorway will feature the Scada Sidera control and application system developed by SICE.

Slated to open later this year, the tunnel is reportedly the longest tunnel under construction at the port.

“SICE will be responsible for implementing variable signalling, communications and SOS enclosure systems, as well as video surveillance systems.”

It is expected to improve communications and reduce travel times on the Pamplona-Jaca-Huesca-Lérida route.

SICE installs security and control systems and integrates the latest security and user communication systems.

SICE will be responsible for implementing variable signalling, communications and SOS enclosure systems, as well as video surveillance systems.

The company will also install Automatic Incident Detection (AID), thermal cameras, public address systems, fire detection, lighting and ventilation control, and power supply monitoring.

SICE intends to further strengthen its position as the provider of tunnel control systems.

Last year, SICE implemented the ‘SIDERA-OP’ monitoring and control application for all tunnels managed by the Spanish Ministry of Public Works and Transport’s Tunnel Control Center at the port of Monrepós.
