Vigilant Solutions has introduced a new parking solution that allows parking agencies to quickly recover outstanding fines with the help of licence plate recognition cameras and vehicle location data.

The new licence plate-enabled parking (LEP) enforcement solution is also expected to help the parking agencies and municipal parking units identify repeat violators.

It integrates Vigilant’s licence plate recognition cameras and software with its expansive commercial data network to allow the parking enforcement to work with local law enforcement and address violations involving on-street spaces and off-street lots rapidly.

Vigilant Solutions president and founder Shawn Smith said: “LEP enforcement equips parking agencies with a powerful tool that allows them to locate those who are in violation of policies.

“The financial impact of unpaid fines can result in millions of dollars lost to municipalities. Our solution ensures violations are resolved in the most efficient and effective manner for the municipality.”

The new suite gives access to open-API architecture and offers easy integration with pay station and gated parking vendors.

After identifying the offending vehicles, the solution issues an alert to appropriate officers.

Furthermore, Vigilant’s LEP product offers permit-only parking management with mobile LPR cameras, in-vehicle CarDetector Mobile software, and its web-based Client Portal.

The solution will send an alert to the enforcement officer when it detects a non-permitted licence plate.

The product is also said to offer hotlist and whitelist uploads that are easy to manage, as well as enable enforcement officers to set and manage zones from the field.
