Manila North Tollways Corporation (MNTC), a unit of Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation (MPTC), has secured a 25-year contract to manage and operate the Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX) in Manila, Philippines.

MNTC and the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) signed the concession agreement, which can be extended for a further eight years.

BCDA has also assigned MNTC the right to collect toll, which is subject to regulatory approvals.

MNTC will have overall management and supervision of the toll operations centre, and all other related ancillary facilities on the expressway, and will also provide financial and other resources to run the toll operations.

The agreement will also allow MPTC with its plan to connect the entire Mega Manila through a network of expressways.

MNTC will pay a concession fee on a semi-annual basis for 2010 to 2016, and will pay 20% of the gross revenues from the SCTEX for 2017 to 2043.
