Oman Roads Engineering Company has secured a contract for the OMR20m ($54m) Rabat-Iteen Interchange Project in the city of Muscat, Oman.

Under the deal, a grade-separated interchange will be built at the junction of Al Rabat Street and Iteen Road/Al Namah Road, which will be upgraded into a partial-cloverleaf interchange, with a flyover across Al Rabat Street.

The half-cloverleaf design, along with exit ramps and service roads, will ensure smooth traffic flows in Salalah, and also in the north-south direction along Al Namah Road and Iteen Road.

Al Namah Road will be upgraded into a four-lane divided carriageway, while Iteen Road will be widened, and a vehicular underpass will be constructed across the Iteen Road.

Oman Roads Engineering will execute the contract on behalf of the Supreme Committee for Town Planning, which oversees the modernisation of Dhofar’s road network.
