A consortium of Kellogg, Brown, Root, URS Australia, and Mott MacDonald Australia, has won the contract to conduct a planning study for the upgrade of the South Road corridor in South Australia.

The study will develop a plan for the upgrade of about 9km of South Road between the South Road Superway and Gallipoli Underpass.

The planning study will commence this month to assess traffic forecasts, as well as potential environmental, social and economic impacts, to identify the best alignment for the upgrade project.

The upgrade work will deliver an enhanced road network through Adelaide’s main north-south transit corridor.

The Australian Government has allotted A$70m($70.1m) to fund planning studies on Adelaide’s north-south corridor, as part of an A$500m($500.8m) commitment to upgrade South Road.
