The Texas Department of Transportation, US, has approved $350m for Segment E of the Grand Parkway in West Harris County.

Segment E is a proposed 15.2 mile, four-lane, controlled access toll road with intermittent frontage roads between IH 10 (West) to US 290 (Northwest Freeway).

The department will award the contracts for Segment E in July this year, with construction to begin by the end of August or early September, and completion expected within 28 months.

Total costs for Segment E, including right-of-way acquisitions, development, design and construction, are estimated at around $425m.

State Highway 99, also known as the Grand Parkway, is a proposed 180-mile circumferential motorway traversing seven counties and encircling the Greater Houston region, with other segments in various stages of development.
