Cowi & Obermeyer has been chosen to design a bridge across the Fehmarn Belt that will connect Germany and Denmark.

Project control group Fehmern Belt chose Cowi to design a cable-stayed bridge and a suspension bridge as an alternative across the 19km stretch.

A consortium of Danish consultants Rambøll, British Arup and Dutch TEC will design a tunneled solution.

The designing involves major engineering and environmental challenges in the coming three years and many aspects will be considered before approval is granted.
