The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai have developed a new system using toll gate (Salik) cards that enable customers to top up their accounts with scratch cards.

RTA Traffic and Roads Agency CEO Maitha bin Adai said that the new system can be accessed at any time, saves time and effort, and is in sync with the RTA vision of providing safe and smooth transport.

Distribution areas for Salik top-up cards will include petrol stations and commercial centers. The cards can also be bought in bulk for resale to subscribers.

This new service is a part of RTA’s effort to upgrade the system and provides multiple pay options like credit card, e-dirham or direct debit from the bank account.

These online services would be provided in collaboration with Dubai e-Government.
