Work on 54 road projects funded by American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) in Missouri will begin soon.

The $87.1m economic stimulus projects approved by Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission include repairing bridges, building new interchanges, resurfacing roadways and improving shoulders and pavement.

The state will benefit from savings of more than $15.4m from 54 ARRA projects which have proved to be 15.1% below the budget. These savings will aid in reimbursing the declined federal and state revenues.

These projects bring the total number of projects in Missouri to 91. The construction work of the first 12 stimulus projects had started; one of them has even been completed.
