Florida’s Department of Transportation (FDOT) District Four will be introducing the ‘VisioPaD’ video-based Automatic Incident Detection (AID) system as part of a 166 camera expansion plan.

The expansion will enhance the use of Citilog’s VisioPaD and also aims at increasing the traffic monitoring capabilities along Interstates 95, 595 and 75 in Broward County, ITS International reports.

AID can quickly cover the traffic issues like crashes, stopped vehicles and debris along limited access facilities.

The system will help FDOT in real real-time traffic monitoring and incident detection aimed at bringing down incident durations.
