Siemens Traffic Solutions has collaborated with US firm Sensys to integrate their SCOOT adaptive control system with Sensys wireless vehicle detectors.

The collaboration is intended to allow cities and municipalities to implement SCOOT adaptive systems without the infrastructure and cost barriers of traditional loop detectors.

The Sensys detectors are easy to install and can be integrated with Siemens products making it easier to implement at all levels of traffic management systems for a variety of applications.

Siemens Traffic Solutions general manager said that apart from the additional ease of implementation, it will enhance users’ ability to collect traffic data for applications such as adaptive timing, speed data, travel time and measure the performance of their transportation networks.
